Avant Garde Makeup Class – June

The term “Avant Garde” means NEW, FRESH and UNIQUE. “Avant Garde” – when applied to makeup  is experimental and innovative, creating very artistic painterly looks that are often exotic, extreme and high fashion. Avant garde is about pushing boundaries, using unusual items and pigments to create something completely new and unique. Often used for editorial and dramatic photo shoots or competitions.

If you are ready to take your artistry to the next level this is the course for you!

Course includes:

Talking about designing different looks and working to a theme

Creating a mood board

Using different kinds of make up, pigments, water based make ups, specialist metallics etc

Using different materials to achieve different finishes, (eg glitter. feathers, lace, crystals, beads, paper etc)

Being creative in terms of using materials and accessories in different ways

Bringing  colour choices together for most impact

Please bring

Brushes (makeup and face painting brushes)

small make up kit with some strong colours

small face paint kit

any unusual craft accessories/dramatic lashes/stencils you can bring.

This class is taught by Karen Huwen (@WowFactorFaces, and @GrownUpGlitz), She is a graduate from the Val Garland School of Makeup and teaches at Make up Schools, Conventions and Masterclasses all around the UK, and Europe. She has won numerous competitions in the past 5 years including “Creative Makeup Artist of the Year”. Karen is also the author of a Face Painting Book available worldwide and an instructor on FABATV.
